RF Brake System

Remote Activation Of Vehicle Braking Systems
The RF Brake System allows remote actuation of
vehicle braking systems in situations such as
driverless vehicles used in automotive crash-testing.
The system consists of three modules: a Transmitter module, a Receiver
module, and a System Controller module. The Transmitter and Receiver modules
provide a communication link between an external control input and the System Controller. The System Controller rides onboard the vehicle and controls
an external brake actuation system through a 12VDC, 4Amp output which is
usually used to activate a solenoid valve.
The brake actuation system may either be user-supplied or provided
by GMH Engineering and tailored to meet your application requirements. A pneumatic
cylinder attached to the vehicle brake pedal may be used, for example, or
the brake system itself may be modified if desired.

Range
|
The RF Brake system has a range of over 1 mile*.

Reliable Operation
|
UHF FM signal provides high noise immunity. Separate
arming and activation circuits allow for safety interlocking
of brake controls.
|
|
Internally Powered
|
The System Controller includes an internal battery which is used
to power the system controller, the receiver module,
and an external solenoid, which is part of the brake
actuation system.
|
|
Strobe Control
|
Strobe control output allows triggering of a strobe
or other external signal device to mark brake
actuation.
|
|
Control Inputs
|
A push-button switch is provided on the Transmitter
module for manual operation of the brakes. An external electrical contact closure may also be used.
*Requires FCC License for operation -
application available either from GMH or from the FCC
